Book 5 sneak peek: The Light of Daijun
As Alex W and Dan D, in year 5 at this moment in time (we won’t call them that all the way through the story) walked towards the playground, they saw Rob, quite a medium sized boy with a pointy head- almost like a rugby ball. And yes, they just saw him; he isn’t actually anything to do with this story at all. As they killed the ants climbing up the tree, Alex moaned “I’m so bored, I could just cry!”
Dan retorted, “Go ahead, nobody’s stopping you.”
Alex gave him an unimpressed look. “I really don’t find that funny, Dan. What I do find funny however-” he paused and sat on the ground “-is acting like a dog!”
Dan chuckled and frollocked around a little, before coming to a halt and realizing with horror what he’d just done.
“Jesus, I’m getting crazier every day… and to think I’m acting like this after all that’s happened- what with Alex and that…”
Alex bowed his head and stood up again. “Come on, Dan. There’s nothing we can do about it now…”
Dan looked up. One of the dinner ladies came running towards them shrieking. ”There’s been a crime, I tells ya, a crime!”
“A what?!” Alex exclaimed.
“A crime! Don’t go near it! It’s just over by the steps!”
And with that, they quickly headed over to the steps...
